The beautiful mountains of Rasun

On the entrance to the valley the idyllic resorts of Rasun di sotto and Rasun di sopra. Nestled between the Pragser Dolomites in the south and the Rieserferner the north, surrounded by meadows, framed by deep green forests and picturesque alps, the holiday area of the val Pusteria promises a memorable holiday experience. Rasun di sotto has about 700 inhabitants and is a fraction of the municipality Rasun-Anterselva. Rasun di sotto is only 3 km far from the popular skiing and hiking mountain Kronplatz wich draws active tourists under its spell.

The mighty peaks of the Rieserferner that make the valley so impressive surmount Rasun di sotto. At the foot of them lays one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in South Tyrol: the Anterselva lake. Near the lake lays the biathlon center of Anterselva. The border crossing of Staller sattel is not far from the lake. From there the Obersee, the Staller Almtal and the Defreggen valley can be reached.
